How the process works
- Examination and imaging. Because the implant attaches directly to your jaw, we need to know the condition of that bone. If it is insufficient, grafting can build it up first.
- Placement. The titanium post is placed into the jaw.
- Healing. The bone integrates with the post. You may wear a temporary crown during this period.
- The final crown. Once your permanent crown returns from the dental lab, you come back in, we check the fit and appearance, and it is seated.
An implant can also support a bridge — which means fewer alterations to your natural teeth during a more complex restoration.
